This exceptional batik tulis was created by Na Swan Hien, a renowned batik artisan from Kedungwuni. It features a stunning depiction of the phoenix (burung hong), gracefully surrounded by flowering vines — a motif deeply revered in Peranakan culture as a symbol of elegance, prosperity, and rebirth.
Meticulously hand-drawn using an ultra-fine canting 0 on both sides of the cloth, this masterpiece required approximately one year to complete.
Through the full immersion dyeing process, the batik achieves remarkable depth, clarity, and richness of color.
